6 Month Checkup

This week Garrett saw his doctor for his 6 month checkup. He checked out fine - with a few added comments from the doctor about how "well fed" he appears to be! Our little buckaroo is just under 20 pounds, is currently 28 inches long, and always seems to be in a happy mood - as you can tell by some recent pictures...

He's working on sitting up on his own. He does a good job for the most part, but will find himself diving to his tummy if he leans too far to the left or right.

Last of the Cast!

Happy Birthday to Me! I received the best gift 1 day early...my cast was removed today! The past 6 weeks since I fell have flown by fast, even though at times it seemed like today would never come! My entire arm feels very stiff & sore, so I have various exercises to do in order to strengthen it up. The doc told me that it shouldn't be long before I have full movement. After the cast was removed it was time for lunch, so we headed for my favorite Mexican restaurant where I celebrated with a margarita!

I don't have any "after" pictures yet because the arm is not pretty to look at. But here is one of the last pictures taken with the cast...along with a favorite Garrett photo...Go KU!

Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley, from Eudora, Kansas, came to visit us in Iowa (via cousin Emma). He was previously living it up in the warm sun of Florida...so the cold Iowa weather was a bit of a shock for him! He did enjoy himself as Garrett took him out to make snow angels. Don't worry - Garrett let Stanley borrow some warm clothes!

Garrett's Favorites

At almost 6 months old, following are some of Garrett's Favorite things...

Of course, Garrett LOVES his Daddy. He also has a strange fascination with lamps. He is drawn toward the light - or just the lamp shade - in any given room in the house.
Garrett likes to play on his floor gym. He's getting to the point where he will flip onto his tummy from sitting position to bat at the inflated ball hanging above him.
