Fall Zoo Adventure

We celebrated the first day of Fall with a trip to the Sedgwick County Zoo.
This zoo adventure was also partially a reward for Garrett's recent potty training success!
The boys are ready to go explore!

These birds were so beautiful!

Garrett was most looking forward to seeing the giraffes. They didn't disappoint! He would have liked to get closer...but he was in awe of them from a distance as well.

Daddy and Garrett checking out the "Detroit Lions".

The boys tamed the lions at the zoo!

...and Garrett rode the lion like a bull!

Lunch break...and funny grins.

Reece also enjoyed our lunch break - especially since he got to run around...

...and play peek-a-boo!

Check out the 3 monkeys!

This guy was ready for his close-up.

This guy crashed halfway thru the zoo adventure.

More bull riding in the barn.

Giddy-up!

Look out...Cow crossing!

I like this pic because it looks like the two kids are running around playing together!

Hoody Weather

It's the first fall-like day, here in our little Kansas town, and we had a few spare minutes before leaving for work/daycare this morning, so I snapped some pics of the boys in their hoodies. I often hear requests for more pictures of the boys together - which I try to accommodate. However, as shown below, it is nearly impossible to snap a "perfect" picture of a 1-and 3-year-old together.

I think this one wins the prize...love to see them smiling!
(By the way...thanks to the boys' loving father, who had to leave work & travel across town to unlock the front door, which was inadvertently locked & pulled shut during the above-mentioned photo shoot. Love you, Steve!)

sunday morning imagination

Garrett aspires to be a bull rider. (Daddy hopes he changes his goal to being a world champion team roper.) Here Garrett has his bull riding helmet, rope, and glove...and he has good form as he sits upon his "bull" and "rides" for 8 seconds. This ride got a score of 97 points!

Monkey see...Reece had to try a go too!

Reece bucked off...and landed on his feet!

Pilot Garrett and his co-pilot Reece. I'm guessing that Reece isn't too confident in Garrett's flying abilities!

the haircut

Somebody needed a haircut...

...much better! Reece was quite a wiggle worm, but he sat still enough for the barber to trim about an inch all around! Hard to believe how a simple haircut makes him look more like a little boy than my little baby Reece!
