Kansas Update

Hello!I've finally found some time to do a quick post & share some recent pics of the boys!
Our move to Kansas went very smooth, and we are now in our temporary settling in phase. Grandma Jackson graciously offered to provide us with some living space in her home while we start the search for our new Kansas home. We are still in the process of selling our house - which is taking MUCH longer than we thought. We do have a buyer, but their lender has proven to be not-so-easy-to-please...so we are in a holding pattern until they get things figured out. We are praying that everything will fall into place soon - OR that we can find a different buyer - so that we can start seriously looking for something here. The boys have adjusted very well to the move. We love the new daycare, especially the fact that it is Christian-based learning. Garrett enjoys singing new bible songs and telling me about what he learns during our 20 minute car ride home each night. Garrett can be a very sweet, loving boy. He loves his baby brother to pieces. However...he has also officially entered the "terrible twos". He enjoys testing us and expressing his opinions through various actions such as throwing himself on the floor, kicking, screaming at the top of his lungs, and every other action he can think of in response to the word "No". It's a trying time for us all - and I do feel very sorry/embarrassed that my mother-in-law gets to witness my little angel on a daily basis. But we also understand it's an inevitable part of childhood.Reece, on the other hand, has really started to express himself in a more joyful way. He is always smiling or giggling, and loves to watch every move his big brother makes. Just this week he cut his first tooth without much of a fuss. His infectious smiles make each day a little brighter.
Steve and I are both adjusting to our new jobs. Steve is working at the local YMCA as the Program Director for youth sports/aquatics. He has a lot to learn, and will be putting in many long hours in the beginning...but hopefully it will become a job he loves.
My job is really quite similar to the position I held at Iowa Central. I am the Online Bookstore Supervisor for Butler Community College. It has been helpful that I am familiar with the goings-on of a college bookstore as I am training in my new job.

Neither of us has had much "free time" since we've made our move...but we look forward to reconnecting with friends and family that are now minutes away from us versus hours! And, once we find a home and get moved in, we look forward to playing host & hostess to our family & friends from far away!
