Flowers

Here are some pictures of my container plants. They are a little beat up after the tremendous storm that passed through last night...but the colors are brilliant in person. We've had so much rain lately that I can't recall the last time I had to water the plants!

I really like these little pink flowers. I have some orange, yellow and purple too...just wish I would have kept the flower tag since I can't remember what the heck they are! If any of you know, please post to let me know so I can write it down & get them again next year.

Play Ball!

Garrett found Daddy's Iowa Central ball cap today...

Check out that hat hair!

Needed Space

As you can see, things were starting to get pretty crowded in the Jeep. Ever since we took our first road trip with Garrett we have been talking about looking for a larger vehicle that will accommodate not only Steve, me and Garrett, but also all of Garrett's gear and 2 dogs.
A few mornings ago, a call to Steve about a vehicle I had spotted on my way to daycare turned into a test drive that afternoon...and now look what's happened to our driveway...

Out with the old...
...and in with the New!
Finally we have enough space to get us where we need to go...just in time for our family vacation in just a few short weeks!

As you can see...Garrett approves!

Swinging

Yesterday the weather was a bit overcast and not too warm, so I took Garrett to a local playground to swing. As you can see below, he loved it!

Guess Who Likes Spaghetti...

...This Guy Does!

After we cleaned up some of the spaghetti mess we gave Garrett one of his favorite desserts: peach yogurt! He didn't believe me when the container was empty, so I gave it to him so he could see. Apparently I was wrong, as he proceeded to lick and scrape his hands inside the container to get every last drop of goodness! Just like Daddy & his pudding cups! :-)

Just Like Daddy

This morning as I was getting Garrett ready, I realized just how much he is starting to look like his Daddy. He's even dressing like him! Today he's wearing this cute athletic tee & cargo shorts. I didn't see Steve before he left this morning, but I am willing to bet that his outfit will be very similar!
Two of Garrett's favorites lately have been cereal puffs (in the container above), and doors. He cannot get past a door without attempting to reach out for it. He even loves the microwave and dishwasher doors! Maybe there is a future in construction or engineering for our guy???

Below is a picture I'm sure his daddy won't appreciate me posting, but I couldn't help it! I brought some items to a garage sale being put on by a friend. As I pulled stuff out of boxes, I found this beautiful pink wig. We couldn't resist trying it out on Garrett...as you can tell, he wasn't too impressed.

Where'd my baby go?

Is it just me...or is Garrett starting to lose that "baby" look? I was taken aback when I viewed the following pictures of a little boy...
...what happened to my baby boy???

Garrett & His Books

As a mom, one of the things I feel that I've done a good job of so far is to pass on my love for books to my son. Garrett loves to flip through books, especially those that have texture. He also loves to sit on books, chew on books, stand on books, and scoot books around on the floor!
But what he really loves is to sit and look at books with daddy or mommy.

New Foods

We've been trying out different types of "big-people food" with Garrett. Over the weekend, we tried out eggs - and he really seemed to enjoy them! It's been fun trying out different textures and flavors. So far he also likes grapes, raspberries, cheese, toast, and turkey, but isn't quite a fan of mandarin oranges.

Memorial Weekend 2010

This year for Memorial Weekend was fairly quiet for the Iowa Jackson's. We had fun playing outside, chasing the dogs, chasing Garrett, and spending time together as a family.

Saturday afternoon, we took Garrett to the indoor pool at the rec center where Steve works. He LOVED the water! It was a blast...not to mention good exercise for mommy!

Sunday we enjoyed the nice weather and spent some time outside with the dogs. Garrett enjoys reaching for the dogs through the gate on the deck. As you can see Belle enjoys the attention he gets from him, but Kersee would rather lounge in the grass on warm days. We also filled Garrett's small swimming pool so he could splash around. Again, he loved being in the water.

Monday we did much of the same as Sunday. More time in the pool and chasing after Garrett.

All-in-all it was a pretty uneventful weekend...but a weekend full of fun memories!
