Daddy's Boots...and a cute grin!
Stand-Up Playtime
Within the past week, Garrett's attempts to pull himself up have been a success! He can now stand up to pretty much anything. He loves to stand up to his walker, but isn't quite coordinated enough to actually do some walking behind it. So I place it against the sofa and he will pull himself up and play with it that way.
He's quite a little daredevil, with many bumps and bruises to show for it. His teacher at the daycare told me that he often attempts to get on the riding toys that the bigger kids play on. He's not strong enough to stay on and ride them, so he'll fall off...but then gets right back on again. As they say, he's All Boy!

The Great Chase
A few nights ago I was playing with Garrett and discovered a toy that he loves. It's a cow driving a truck that plays banjo music & rolls forward when you press down on the cow's head. I found that if I made it roll toward Garrett, he would take off crawling, stop, and then look back for the cow. So I pressed it again, and he took off again. It became a chase game, filled with quick crawling and giggles. This video doesn't really do justice to how cute it was...but it's still cute!

Ready to Roll!
Fun with Daddy
Garrett & Daddy were playing around in our hotel room in Minneapolis over the weekend (see Mother's Day post below). If you look close, you can see one of Garrett's shiny front teeth! He now has 3 teeth, and judging by the drooling & gnawing that has been going on lately, we're in for a few more very soon!
My First Mother's Day
For my first Mother's Day, Garrett & Daddy took me to Minneapolis for a shopping getaway!
On Saturday we spent a little time navigating through the crowds to hit my favorite stores at the Mall of America, and then had a nice steak dinner (well, Garrett enjoyed baby food & crackers). Sunday morning we went to IKEA. We found a few small items for kitchen & baby, and got some ideas for future projects around the house. On our way home we stopped at an outlet strip and did a little more shopping. Fortunately Garrett loves to ride in his stroller, so he enjoyed people-watching both days. (Oh - and YES, we did stop by Cabela's for Steve.)
Overall, it was a very nice weekend spent with my 2 favorite guys! I hope all of my other mom friends & family had a wonderful Mother's Day too!
